March Wrap-Up|2019

IMG_1282.jpegHope everyone had a good reading month! March felt like a slow month for me but really, I don’t think it was, so yay!

The Stand-In Boyfriend by Emma Doherty

This book was such a cute enjoyable read. I read this in one sitting and had a big grin on my face at the end of the book. The main character was an enjoyable character. But I didn’t love her as much as I loved Chase. Chase is the one who decides to be Livy’s(the main character) stand in boyfriend. I absolutely loved him! He was so sweet and definitely my favorite character in this book. I gave this a 4/5 stars.

The Lady of the Rivers by Philippa Gregory

This book took me quite a while to read. The story was a beautifully written and Gregory did a wonderful job telling the story of Jacquetta and the White Rose War. But the pacing was just slow for me and it was a struggle to get through. I gave this a 4/5 stars.

The First Cut by Ellery Kane

This a very enjoyable mystery/thriller book. The mystery was well done and though I guessed the person who did it, I did not guess the reason why they did it so I still got the shock factor. The main character was frustrating at times but it made her seem real. If you want to know more of my thoughts you can read my review here. I gave this a 4/5 stars.

Double Black by Ali Dean

This is the second book in the Stark Academy series. I did not like the second book as much as the first book. I still enjoyed it but I didn’t find it as enjoyable as the first book was. I also did not like the ending and felt like the author just changed genres. I gave this a 3/5 stars.

King of Scars by Leigh Bardugo

Ahhh I loved this book! It was so nice to get back into the Grishaverse world and to be with these familiar characters once again. If you want to know more on my thoughts for the book check out my review here. I gave this a 5/5 stars.

Lily and Dunkin by Donna Gethart

This. Book. I honestly could go one for a good while on why this book is so good. I loved the representation is had and thought the author did a good job with it. The characters were my favorite part of the book. I loved them so much. If you want to read more on my thoughts feel free to check out my review here. I gave this a 5/5 stars.

Dawn to Dark: A Collection of Fairytale Retellings

I enjoyed these retellings. The authors did a good job developing their own spins on the fairytales we all love. Some of the stories I felt were a little weird and uh, questionable but overall everything was enjoyable. I gave this 3.5/5 stars.

So there we have it, all the books I read this month! How many books did you end up reading in the month of March?
