Wrap-Up

April Wrap-Up

IMG_1544.jpegApril started out as a not so great reading month. But as the month was coming to an end something kicked in and I started finishing books super fast. I ended up reading 10 books which has been the highest amount of books I’ve read in a month this year!

Amelia Westlake Was Never Here by Erin Gough

I was super excited to receive a copy of this book because when I read the description I knew this was going to be a book I was going to really enjoy. And I was right! I really enjoyed this book and the story. If you want to check out my full review on the book you can click here. I gave this 4/5 stars

Petal Plucker by Iris Morland

I really only have one word for this book. Cringy. So many lines and conversations in this book I found so cringy and just well, cringy. But I felt like because of how cringy it was which had me laughing is why I sort of enjoyed it. I gave this a 3/5 stars.

Chasing Indigo by Ali Dean

I was much excited to read this new book by Ali Dean after reading the first two books in the Stark Academy series. And I really enjoyed this book. I liked the main character Indigo and her tenacity and how she just wants to improve on her running. I also liked the how not only was she dealing with furthering her running career and becoming a better runner but she had these walls and barriers that she works on lowering in the book. One thing I wasn’t such a fan of was some things the character Ryan said and thought. I gave this a 3.5/5 stars.

Charmed Empire by Brooke Ellis

This was a very enjoyable romance/contemporary book. I liked the main character Adeline a lot but I liked Mitch even more. I liked Mitch a ton because he was such a gentleman and a romantic and I loved how he treated a certain someone. If you want to check out my full review just click here. I gave this 3.25 stars.

Shadow Me by Tahereh Mafi

I loved this novella and love Kenji even more. I loved reading from Kenji’s point of view and gaining more insight on him as a character. This was also a good little refresher on the end of Restore Me so that was nice. I gave this 5/5 stars.

Prisoner of Silk by Lidiya Foxglove

I don’t even know where to start with this book. This had potential to be something super awesome and such a good read. But ultimately it just fell flat. To sum it up, this was a book full or smut and nothing else. The plot was so weak if not nonexistent. And don’t get me started on the faerie court in this book. I could honestly go off about it for quite awhile. I gave this 2/5 stars.

The Girl King by Mimi Yu

I really enjoyed this book. It was a nice fantasy read and I really enjoyed the story. My favorite character was Nokhai, the others I didn’t love super much but I didn’t hate them. I liked the magic for the most part, some of it confused me a tiny bit but overall I was really interested in the magic aspect of this book. I gave it a 4/5 stars.

The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas

Where do I even begin. I honestly don’t think words can get across how much I love this book. Though at times it was a bit difficult to get through, I am so happy that I ended up sticking through it because in the end, I enjoyed it so very much. This book is so wonderfully written I just can’t even wrap my head around how wonderfully written it was. Not to mention how well written each character was, like I’ve never read a book where each character was so well formed and so well dimensioned. I’m going to have a review up soon so look out for that! I gave this 5/5 stars.

I Spy the Boy Next Door by Samantha Armstrong

I so very much enjoyed this book. At first it seems like your typical boy next door cliché book. But once you get further into this book you realize that that is not the case. This book is filled with some plot twists that you don’t exactly see coming. If you want to read more about my thoughts on this book you can check out my review here.

Hunting Price Dracula by Kerri Maniscalco

I loved this book! I’m not exactly sure if I loved it more than the first, I’m going to have to do some thinking on that before I reach a verdict. But this book was so good! I didn’t want to put it down and I loved the mystery. When the who done it was revealed I was in class and I made a movement due to the shock factor and my classmate sort of laughed at me which made me laugh a little but I was to involved in the book to pay anymore attention to the outside world at that moment😂 My love for Thomas grew even more in this book which I didn’t think possible. Audrey Rose was amazing yet again in this book. Seriously cannot wait to read the next book. I gave this a 5/5 stars.

I’m super happy with how well I did reading wise this month. I do hope the rest of the months will be like April reading wise.

How many books did you end up reading in the month of April?
