I’m super pumped for this top ten Tuesday posts! I keep a notes section in my phone dedicated to book quotes so I’m hoping I won’t have a ton of trouble trying to track down the quotes.
“Hatred is blind and anger deaf: the one who pours himself a cup of vengeance is likely to drink a bitter draught”
This quote is from The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas and I do believe it was said by the Count himself.
“It is not the tree that forsakes the flower, but the flower that forsakes the tree.”
This is also from The Count of Monte Cristo and it is also said by the Count if I remember correctly.
“What is life except a pause in the antechamber of death?”
This is from, you guessed it, The Count of Monte Cristo. I can’t help it though, this book I feel like is filled to the brim with thought provoking quotes.
“It is said that we learn more from our failures than our successes”
This is from The Wicked King by Holly Black
“You can leave home but home never leaves you”
This is from Salvage Rat by Larry N. Martin and I don’t know if this really counts as inspirational or thought provoking but at the same time I kind of feel like it does so I’m just going to keep this quote here
“Words have the power to change the world. Use them carefully”
This is from the book Lily and Dunkin by Donna Gephart
“Theres plenty of sense in nonsense sometimes if you wish to look for it”
Soo, I can’t remember which Infernal Devices book this comes from but its from one of those books by Cassandra Clare and as I’m sure most of us know, this was said my none other than Will Herondale
“Every human life is worth the same, and worth saving”
This is from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling
“If we wait until we are ready, we’ll be waiting most of our lives”
From The Ersatz Elevator this quote comes from by the author that is Lemony Snicket.(Does anyone else think that thats such a wonky sentence I wrote?)
“Everything is possible. The impossible just takes longer”
And the last quote of this post is from one of my favorite authors, Dan Brown and this quote comes from his book Digital Fortress.
Books honestly contain so many wonderful inspirational quotes along with thought provoking quotes, I sometimes wonder how an author comes up with them.
