To keep her secret and save her crown, she’ll have to marry a dark and brooding Stormling prince from another kingdom: He’ll guarantee her spot as the next queen and be the champion her people need to remain safe.

But the more Aurora uncovers about him, the more a future with him frightens her.

What I Liked:

  • The characters. I really liked the characters and the only one I didn’t really like was Cassius. Locke was my favorite out of all the characters, I’m glad we got parts in the book that were from his point of view, I am looking forward to getting to know his character more in the second book. I like Roar but in the beginning I didn’t really care for her. However as the book went on I came to like her just a little bit more. I feel like in the next book I will start to like her more… I hope at least I will.
  • The magic. I thought the magic system in this book was unique and cool. It was like a cool twist on elemental magic.

What I Disliked:

  • The amount of Cassius parts. I wish we got more Cassius parts because there clearly more to him and what he’s doing but we get a very tiny glance at it. I am hoping we get more parts from his point of view in book two
  • The magic system. Okay I know I have the magic in what I liked about the book but I also have to put it on what I disliked. I thought the magic system was a bit confusing. The main part that I couldn’t wrap my head around was the storm hearts and battling a storm. I just couldn’t picture the scenes in my head and can’t picture someone taking a stormheart.
  • The plot. It was hard for me to get into the book and its plot. It wasn’t until 60% though that it finally picked up for me and I started to really get into the book.
