December Wrap-Up|2019

Top Ten Tuesday-54.png

I hope everyone had an awesome last month of 2019 and an awesome last reading month of 2019! I did not read as many books as I hoped to read in December but I did read some good ones! So, onto the books I read in December!

I finally finished Finale by Stephanie Garber. I really enjoyed the other books in this trilogy and this one was no exception. I really enjoyed the finale to this trilogy. I liked how it was mainly in both Tella’s point of view and Scarlett’s point of view along with a few others. One thing I wish of this book is that we got to see more of the fates and what they do. It is often said of their horridness but I feel like we didn’t get to see much of that horridness and I wish we did. Overall it was a solid conclusion and I really enjoyed it! I gave this 5/5 stars

The Hadley Academy for the Improbably Gifted

Next I read a book called The Hadley Academy for the Improbably Gifted by Conor Grennan. I wasn’t sure if I was going to read this or not but it did sound interesting so I was hopeful! It was a little hard for me to get into but once it picked up I got into it! The ending was rushed and I was a bit confused on how everything wrapped up. If you want to read more of my thoughts on the book you can read my full review here. I gave this 4/5 stars.

The Queen of Nothing

It was time for me to read the long desired finale in the Folk of the Air series, The Queen of Nothing(is it just me or did anyone else not realize there was a ‘the’ before queen in the title). I was a bit disappointed by this. I felt like there was really no big climax or anything, and the resolution let me down a little. Even though the plot line of this book disappointed me, the romance did not. I sorta did not realize how much I was rooting so to say for the romance in this series until I was reading this. The epilogue was by far my favorite part and I wish there could be a novella on that scene. I gave this 4/5 stars.

Tweet Cute

I was in the mood for some contemporary so I picked up Tweet Cute by Emma Lord. I went into this with the expectation that it was going to have the hate to love trope. I was disappointed to find that it did not have that trope but it did have another trope that I liked so it wasn’t a huge disappointment. I loved the twitter battle going on in this book and it was fun to see some of the tweets they “tweeted.” Along with the lighthearted twitter battle raging on, there was some depths to this story which is nice. I gave this 4/5 stars. I’ll also have a full review up for this soon so look out for it!

Queen of Ruin

I picked up the sequel to Grace and Fury, Queen of Ruin by Tracy Banghart. This series needs more love!! I super enjoyed the sequel to Grace and Fury and thought it was a fitting conclusion. I loved seeing the growth of the two main characters. My favorite aspect of this book is all the strong female characters in this book and the sheer determination and strength they all have, I loved seeing that shine in this book. I gave this 4/5 stars.

Red Scrolls of Magic

I finally picked up The Red Scrolls of Magic by Cassandra Clare! Magnus is one of my favorite characters in the Shadowhunter world and I love him and Alec together! I feel like this book dove deeper into their relationship and we got to see how each of them feel about their relationship which I liked. The plot wasn’t amazing to me and for me, the time placement of this book was confusing for me since it happens in between the mortal instruments series but was published way after the series ended. I think the characters is  what makes this book so good and I definitely think they carried the book. I gave this 4/5 stars.

So, those were all the books I read in December. Not as many as I was hoping to read but I’m happy they were 4+ star ratings.

How many books did you read in December?
