June Wrap-Up|2019

Top Ten Tuesday-15.png

June was a bit of a slow reading month and that partly had to due with me leaving for camp in the beginning of the month. But I did get some reading done because I took part in a 24 hour readathon which was fun and exhausting. Anyways, onto the books I read in the month of June!

The first book I read was A Curse of Thorns by Nicole Mainardi. This book is a retelling of Beauty and the Beast. I really enjoyed this book and thought it was a well done retelling. It was easy to find aspects that relate to Beauty and the Beast and it was also easy to see where the author inserted their own ideas and creativity. If you want to check out my full review just click here. I gave this a 3.75/5 star rating.

The second book I read was The Devil’s Arithmetic by Jane Yolen. This is a book about a girl who lives in the modern day suddenly gets transported to the Holocaust. This was a very short read but I felt that even in the short amount of pages the book gets a message/point across. If you want to read more of my thoughts on this book just click the link here. I gave this a 4/5 star rating.

Third I read Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alice Sáenz. This. Was. Such. A. Good. Book. I understand why everyone loves this book and I am definitely right in there with them. This book is so well written and I really love the writing. The characters and the story were also just wow and I recommend this book to everyone. I gave this a 5/5 star rating.

Fourth I read My Life with the Walter Boys by Ali Novak. This was an enjoyable contemporary book. I liked most of the characters and thought even though there were so many they weren’t as undeveloped as I thought they would be. If you want to read more of my thoughts on this book, just click the link here. I gave this a 4/5 star rating.

And last but not least, I read All the Wandering Light by Heather Fawcett. This duology is definitely one of my favorites. I love all the characters in it a ton. The story is amazing and so full of action. There were some times when it was a little boring and I wasn’t really interested in it. The ending was nice but I felt it was a little rushed and so much happened that I’m not exactly sure what happened. But overall it was such an enjoyable read and I really love this duology. I gave this book a 4.5/5 star rating.

So there it is, all the books I read in the month of June!
